Slow Cooker Freezer Meal
This easy slow cooker freezer meal is perfect for homesteading. Prepare multiple batches ahead of time and freeze them for convenient, hearty meals on busy days.
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs beef stew meat
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 carrots, sliced
- 3 potatoes, cubed
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp dried rosemary
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Put everything in a large plastic bag that can be closed again and again
Close the bag up tight and get rid of as much air as you can
Write on the bag, "Thaw overnight in the refrigerator" along with the cooking instructions
For eight hours, cook on low
Lie the bag flat in the freezer and freeze it until it doesn't move
Let it thaw overnight in the fridge before cooking
Put everything in the bag into a slow cooker
For eight hours, or until the beef is soft, cook on low heat
If you think it needs it, add more salt and pepper before serving
